Course Materials:          (i) General Chemistry; Principles and Modern Applications

     by Petrucci, Harwood, Herring and Madura, 9th edition.

(ii) University of Winnipeg 08.1111/3 laboratory manual

 

Course Grading:            Assignments /Quizzes      10%

Term Test#1                   15%

Term Test#2                   15%

Laboratory                      20%

Final Exam                       40%

TOTAL                             100%

 

The Laboratory must be satisfactorily completed in order to receive a passing grade in this course.  Assignments may be required to be typed into an on-line discussion group.  Late assignments will be penalized at the rate of 25% of their value per day.

October 24                     Final date to withdraw without academic penalty.  I highly encourage all students to visit me in person or contact me by phone or email before withdrawing from the course.

November 6                    Term Test #2

November 11                  Remembrance Day - University Closed

November 27                  Lectures end

December 11, 13:30-15:30  Final Exam, 2 hours.
